From the older form ܐܳܕܺܝܢ not present in Syriac. Influenced heavily by Ancient Greek δέ (dé).

Usage notes
ܕܝܢ is a postpositive word that usually takes the second position in a clause, but may never interrupt a construct state possession. It never initiates a clause.
