Either from Old Persian [Term?] (/*nibrāšti-/) or from Akkadian 𒈾𒀊𒇺 (/nabliš/, “like a flame, like a light or flash”); compare Hebrew נִבְרֶשֶׁת (niḇréšeṯ) and Arabic نِبْرَاس (nibrās).
