Etymology

From Jurchen tumən (“ten thousand”) + Middle Sino-Korean 가ᇰ (Yale: kàng, “river”, 江). The modern Korean name 두만강 (豆滿江, duman'gang, “Tumen River”) derives from an orthodox Sino-Korean reading of the hanja spelling.
