Etymology

Rebracketing of -tic after Greek words ending in -μα (-ma), such as problematic; extended to new environments in modern scientific coinages as such lymphatic; likely reanalyzed as if from -ate + -ic.

  1. (unproductive) Used to form some adjectives (and sometimes nouns derived from them) meaning "of", "like", "characteristic of", etc.
    iarnă (winter) + -aticiernatic (of the winter, hibernal)
    toamnă (autumn) + -atictomnatic (of the autumn, autumnal)
    zână (fairy) + -aticzănatic (crazy)
