From Latin Alcaicus, from Ancient Greek Ἀλκαϊκός (Alkaïkós), from Ἀλκαῖος (Alkaîos, “Alcaeus”) + -ικός (-ikós, “-ic”). By surface analysis, Alcaeus + -ic.
