   The factories are in the immediate proximity of a nature sanctuary.

Usage notes

• (neighbourhood): The German word is not commonly used to mean a part of a town or city (for which see Viertel, Gegend). One’s Nachbarschaft are just the houses, or streets at most, that are closest to one’s own dwelling.
