- (as the Syvash) A network of lagoons forming a western arm of the Sea of Azov, connected therewith by the Henichesk Strait through the Arabat Spit, and otherwise bound by Ukraine’s Kherson Oblast to the north, by the Isthmus of Perekop to the west, and by the Crimea to the south.
