acieration (usually uncountable, plural acierations)

1. (rare) The conversion of iron into steel.
   • 1861, William Crookes, editor, The Chemical News and Journal of Physical Science, volume 3:

     It should not be attempted to convert impure irons into steel […] for then there is no certainty regarding the stability of the acieration.
