azine (plural azines)
- (organic chemistry) Any of a class of organic compounds, having the general formula R2C=NN=CR2, produced by the action of a carbonyl compound with hydrazine.
- (organic chemistry) Any of a class of heterocyclic compounds containing a nitrogen atom as part of the ring structure, particularly those with six-membered aromatic rings (e.g., pyridine) or fused-ring systems.
