Etymology

Derived from Proto-Turkic *dï̄n + -(n)c. Azerbaijani tıncıxmaq (to pant) and dincəlmək are derivations of the same root. Cognate with Turkish dinç, Bashkir тыныс (tınıs), see there for more.
