English

Adjective

impulsory (comparative more impulsory, superlative most impulsory)

  1. Of, relating to, or caused by an impulse.

Usage notes

  • In psychiatry and psychology, sometimes distinguished from impulsive: "It is advisable to denote actions which are attached immediately to an impulse without being impulsive actions in the strict sense, as impulsory actions, and the total process as an impulsory process" (1944, Lowell Sinn Selling, Synopsis of Neuropsychiatry, page 422).
