Etymology
From Old Norse okkarn with a genitive -s added. The former was the accusative masculine singular of okkarr, from Proto-Germanic *unkeraz, possessive determiners of Old Norse vit and Proto-Germanic *wet respectively, the first-person dual pronoun.
