quadlet (plural quadlets)

  1. (computing) A word consisting of four bytes.
    • 2000, Ian Robertson Sinclair, Practical electronics handbook, page 257:
      The quadlets are time aligned for accuracy so that they may be loaded into the FIFO registers which are 32 bits wide and 64 quadlets deep.
  2. A group of four similar or equal things, especially of rocket fuel injectors
    • 1976, NASA, “2.1.1.1: Element Selection”, in Liquid Rocket Engine Injectors, page 14:
      The unlike-impinging quadlet has been used rather extensively in space-vehicle engines.
