- răpede — Moldavia (region)
Etymology
Inherited from Latin rapidus and Inherited from Latin rapidē. The -e declension derives from the adverb, the adjective having been conflated with it. The rarely used western Transylvanian variant rapăd preserves the adjective declension. Doublet of rapid. Thus originally there must have been two distinct forms for adjective and adverb; *raped and *rapede respectively.
