Richard Henry Major (3 de octubre de 1818 - 25 de junio de 1891) fue un bibliotecario geógrafo y comisario de mapas de la colección del Museo Británico a partir de 1844 hasta su jubilación en 1880. Durante ese tiempo publicó una serie de libros relacionados con algunos mapas y otros documentos de importancia histórica. Desde 1849 hasta 1858, fue el Secretario de la Hakluyt Society[1] Reconocido a nivel internacional por sus trabajos en el ámbito de la geografía, la cartografía histórica.
