Keelepuu on võrdlevas-ajaloolises keeleteaduses tarvitatav mudel suguluses olevate keelte omavaheliste seoste esitamiseks, näiteks keelkondade kirjeldamisel.[1]
Keelepuus on igal reaalsel keelel ülimalt üks otsene esivanem, mis harilikult on ka veel vähemalt ühe teise sugulaskeele esivanem. Niisugust kahe või enama keele esivanemat nimetatakse nende keelte algkeeleks.[1]
Keelepuu esitab lisaks reaalsetele keeltele või murretele ka kõik konstrueeritud algkeeled, millest keeleteadlased on lugenud neid reaalseid keeli või murdeid põlvnevaks.[1]
Keelepuu mudel sarnaneb bioloogias liikide ja liikidest suuremate taksonoomiliste üksuste omavahelisi seoseid kirjeldavate puudega. Bioloogilise taksonoomia mõisteid on kasutatud Ameerika Ühendriikides indiaani keelte kasutamiseks laialdasemalt kui Euroopa keeleteaduses.[1]
