Behemoth on puolalainen, vuonna 1991 perustettu extreme metal -yhtye.[1] Behemothilla on ollut tärkeä rooli puolalaisen underground metalin synnyssä. Ennen 2000-lukua Behemoth soitti black metalia pakanallisilla aiheilla, mutta albumillaan Satanica (1999) yhtye siirtyi nykyiseen ilmaisuunsa lisäten musiikkiinsa death metal -elementtejä ja vaikutteita Lähi-idän musiikista. Yhtyeen sanoitukset käsittelevät okkultismia, pakanallisuutta, antikristillisyyttä ja muinaisia uskontoja. Yhtyeen suosiosta kertoo, että sen albumi Evangelion (2009) nousi Puolan albumilistan ykköseksi.
Behemoth on lisätty niiden yhtyeiden listalle, joiden väitetään tukevan satanismia ja murhia. Ryhmittymä nimeltä Committee for Defense Against Sects antoi listan Puolan viranomaisille siinä toivossa, että se kieltäisi tällaisen musiikin.[2]
