Notes

Le mot supérieur peut se traduire par upper ou par higher. Mais les mots upper et higher ne sont pas synonymes. Upper est seulement un attribut pour distinguer deux objets. Higher est le comparatif de high. Par exemple, les formes comparatives higher than et highest existent, mais on ne dit jamais upper than ni most upper.

In the sleeping compartment of the train, I'd like sleep in the upper berth. (top berth, highest berth; berth = couchette de wagon-lit)
