Georg Joseph Kamel[1] o Jiří Josef Camel (* 21 de april 1661, Brno, Moravia, actual Republica Chec - 2 de maio 1706, Manila, Philippinas), etiam cognoscite per su nomine familia in latin Camellus, esseva un missionero jesuita, botanico in le Philipinas.

Le genere Camellia esseva nominate in su honor per Carolus Linnaeus. Esseva de Moravia, e scribeva Herbarium aliarumque stirpium in insula Luzone Philippinarum (Herbas e Plantas Medicinal del insula de Luzon, Philipinas). Partes de iste labor super plantas oriental se publicava como un appendice in le opus del maestro botanico anglese, John Ray, in Historia plantarum; species hactenus editas insuper multas noviter inventas & descriptas complectens in 1704, e in "Transcriptiones de Philosofia del Societate Regal" de London.
Esseva inviate ad Marianas in 1683, e postquam transferite ad Philippinas in 1688. Kamel establiva un pharmacia in Manila, le primera in tal pais, ubi le gente povre supplicava pro remedios gratis.
UNESCO baptisava le 300º anniversario de su deceso, in 2006, il plus importante del anniversarios del mundo de omnes le tempo.[2]
