Joanne Rowling betur þekkt sem J. K. Rowling (f. 31. júlí 1965) er höfundur hinna sívinsælu ævintýrabóka um galdrastrákinn Harry Potter, sem selst hafa í miljónatölu um allan heim. Í júní 2011 hafa bækur hennar um Harry Potter selst í um 450 milljónum eintaka og verið þýddar á 67 tungumál. Hún skrifaði einnig bókina "Hlaupið í skarðið" (e. The casual vacancy) sem kom út árið 2011.
