Eden Phillpotts

Eden Phillpotts (Mount Abu, 4 novembre 1862 – Broadclyst, 29 dicembre 1960) è stato uno scrittore e drammaturgo inglese, autore di molti romanzi, opere teatrali e poemi ambientati a Dartmoor.

Biografia

Eden Phillpotts nacque a Mount Abu, città del Raj britannico, ritornato in patria seguì i corsi scolastici a Plymouth nel Devon. Dopo aver lavorato come impiegato delle assicurazioni per dieci anni, Phillpotts iniziò a dedicarsi al teatro ed alla letteratura. Dalla sua commedia The Farmer Wife del 1916 sono stati tratti due film: La moglie del fattore di Alfred Hitchcock del 1928 e The Farmer Wife del 1941, diretto da Norman Lee e Leslie Arliss.
