Lover, the Lord Has Left Us... è il secondo album registrato in studio dei The Sound of Animals Fighting, pubblicato su Equal Vision Records nel 2006. Lo stile dell'album è decisamente diverso da quello del precedente album, Tiger and the Duke. La band ha infatti fatto un massiccio uso di musica elettronica, ha usato la voce di un soprano ed ha inserito diversi campionamenti nelle canzoni.

• La canzone "Skullflower" è stata pubblicata su Purevolume dalla band l'11 aprile 2006 come anteprima dell'album.
• Il verso "Flesh is heretic. My body is a witch, I am burning it." dalla canzone "The Heretic" è ripreso da "Act II: All is Ash or the Light Shining Through It", dall'album Tiger and the Duke.
• La voce su "There Can Be No Dispute That Monsters Live Among Us" è quella del padre di Rich Balling.
