The Chordettes

The Chordettes è un gruppo musicale statunitense, formatosi a Sheboygan, nel Wisconsin, nel 1946. Popolare durante gli anni cinquanta del XX secolo, il girl group ha affrontato un repertorio di genere pop, doo-wop e swing, eseguito con canto a cappella.

Storia

Le Chordettes alla stazione centrale di Amsterdam nel 1959

Il gruppo si forma a Sheboygan, in Wisconsin, nel 1946 per opera di Janet Ertel, la di lei cognata Carol Bushman, Dorothy Schwartz e Jinny Osborn. Nel 1952 Lynn Evans sostituisce Dorothy Schwartz, mentre nel 1953 Margie Needham sostituisce Jinny Osborn, che abbandona la formazione perché in attesa di un figlio, rientrando successivamente nel gruppo^[Quando?]. Nancy Overton entra nel gruppo alla fine della carriera di quest'ultimo.
