フランク・プレス

フランク・プレス（英: Frank Press、1924年12月4日 - 2020年1月29日）は、アメリカ合衆国の地球物理学者。30もの名誉博士号を授与されている。

ニューヨークのブルックリン出身。1944年、ニューヨーク市立大学シティカレッジを卒業し、1949年コロンビア大学から地球物理学のPh.D.を取得した。大学院在学中の1945年からコロンビア大学のモーリス・ユーイングのもとで助手、後に准教授となった。1955年からはカリフォルニア工科大学で地球物理学の教授となり、同大学では1957年から1965年まで地震学研究所の所長を務めた。1965年からはマサチューセッツ工科大学（MIT）の教授となり、1982年からは地球惑星科学部の責任者を務めた。1972年5月24日には、モスクワにおいてウラジミール・キリリンと米ソ科学技術協力協定に署名した。
