W.A.S.P.는 1982년에 결성된 미국의 헤비 메탈 밴드로, 로스앤젤레스 초창기 헤비 메탈 씬에서 등장하였다. 이들은 충격적인 이미지, 가사, 라이브 공연으로 잘 알려졌으며, 전 세계적으로 1,200만 장 이상의 음반을 판매하였다.^[5] 데뷔 음반 《W.A.S.P.》 (1984년)와 두 번째 음반 《The Last Command》 (1985년)는 미국 음반 산업 협회(RIAA)로부터 골드 인증을 받았다.^[6]
