Mazā pilsēta kļuva slavena pēc tam, kad tajā pēc 1818. gada sāk strādāt vietējais draudzes prāvests Žans Marī Vianē (Jānis Marija Vianejs), kurš ar savu harismu Arsai piesaistīja daudzus svētceļotāju pūļus no visas pasaules. Šajā laikā pilsētā iedzīvotāju skaits pieauga. 1925. gadā pāvests Pijs IX viņu kanonizēja par svēto.
Mūsdienās Arsas pilsēta piesaista no visas pasaules tūristus un svētceļotājus, kuri vēlas apskatīt Arsas prāvesta nesatrūdējušo ķermeni.
