Pirmoreiz rakstos minēta 1246. gadā. Pilsētas tiesības apdzīvotā vieta ieguva Čehoslovākijas laikā 1989. gadā, apvienojot Nemšovas (Nemšová), Ļuborčas (Ľuborča), Kļučoves (Kľúčové) un Trenčanska Zāvadas (Trenčianska Závada) ciemus. No 1993. gada - Slovākijas sastāvā.
Pēc etniskā sastāva vairums pilsētas iedzīvotāju ir slovāki (98,1 %). Pēc reliģiskās piederības - katoļi (92,9 %), nereliģiozi (4,6 %).
