Alvin Plantinga

Alvin Carl Plantinga (lahir 15 November 1932) ialah ahli falsafah Amerika Syarikat pada abad ke-20.^[1] Plantinga memegang jawatan sebagai pengarah Pusat Falsafah Agama di Universiti Notre Dame.^[1] Selain itu, Plantinga juga menjadi profesor falsafah dari universiti yang sama.^[1]

Pemikiran falsafah agama Plantinga berpusat pada epistemologi dari kepercayaan agama.^[1] Plantinga menyatakan bahawa kepercayaan terhadap Allah dapat menjadi rasional walaupun tidak disokong dengan hujahan dari teologi alam.^[1][2] Pemikiran tersebut dikembangkan melalui sejumlah rencana yang diterbitkan selama dekad 1980-an.^[1] Plantinga menyatakan bahawa kepercayaan kepada Tuhan telah ada di setiap manusia secara asasnya, dan dibuktikan dengan pengalaman.^[1] Di sini, Plantinga mengguna pakai pemikiran dari pelbagai ahli teologi seperti Calvin, Bavinck, dan Barth.^[1]
