Australian Open 1981 (mannen)

Het tennistoernooi Australian Open werd in 1981 bij de mannen voor de 70e keer gehouden. De als vierde geplaatste Zuid-Afrikaan Johan Kriek won het toernooi voor de eerste keer door in de finale zijn ongeplaatste landgenoot Steve Denton met 6-2, 7-6, 6-7 en 6-4 te verslaan.
