Het tweede Wereldkampioenschap voetbal onder 16 werd gehouden in Canada van 12 tot en met 25 juli 1987. Het toernooi werd voor de eerste keer gewonnen door de Sovjet-Unie. In de finale werd Nigeria na strafschoppen verslagen. Ivoorkust werd derde.
