«Man Gave Names to All the Animals» er ein song skriven av Bob Dylan som kom ut på albumet Slow Train Coming i 1979 og som singel i somme land i Europa. Han kom òg ut som ein promosingel i USA. Singelen vart ein hit i Frankrike og Belgia.[1][2] Songen er stundom omtalt som ein av dei verste Dylan skreiv.[2] Ei lesarundersøking i Rolling Stone i 2013 rangerte «Man Gave Names to All the Animals» som den fjerde verste Bob Dylan-songen, bak hitsingelen frå Slow Train Coming, «Gotta Serve Somebody» på andreplassen.[3]
Dylan spelte ofte «Man Gave Names to All the Animals» på konsertane sine mellom 1979 og 1981, og igjen på den europeiske turneen i 1987.[1][2]
«Man Gave Names to All the Animals» er blitt spelt av mange andre artistar, som Townes Van Zandt, som spelte inn songen i 1993 på albumet hans Roadsongs.[2] Teksten vart omgjort til ei barnebok i 1999 med illustrasjonar av Scott Menchin.[2] The Singing Kettle spelte denne songen i den andre episoden av den tredje BBC-TV-serien deira. The Wiggles spelte songen på albumet Furry Tales i 2013.
