Stewart Copeland

Stewart Armstrong Copeland (fødd 16. juli 1952) er ein USA-amerikansk musikar og komponist. Han var trommeslagar i det britiske rockebandet The Police, og har produsert film- og videospelmusikk, i tillegg til å skrive musikk for ballett, opera og orkester.

I følgje MusicRadar har Copeland «ein særeigen trommelyd og unik stil som har gjort han til ein av dei mest populære trommeslagarane gjennom tidene.»^[1] Han vart innlemma i Rock and Roll Hall of Fame som medlem av The Police i 2003, Modern Drummer Hall of Fame i 2005 og Classic Drummer Hall of Fame i 2013.^[2][3][4] I 2016 vart Copeland rangert som den tiande beste trommeslagaren gjennom tidene av Rolling Stone.^[5] Han er òg kjend for å ha skrive musikk til videospelserien Spyro.^[6]

Før han vart medlem av The Police, var han òg ei kort stund medlem av Curved Air.
