Alcobaça er en bykommune i distriktet Leiria i Portugal. Kommunen grenser til Marinha Grande i nord, til Leiria, Porto de Mós og Rio Maior i øst, til Caldas da Rainha i sørvest og til Nazaré og Atlanterhavet i vest.

Noen kilometer nord for sentrum av Alcobaça ligger Alcobaça-klosteret. Dette romersk-katolske klosteret ble grunnlagt av Portugals første konge, Afonso Henriques, i 1153. Kirken og klosteret var de første gotiske byggverkene i Portugal og var, ved siden av Santa Cruz-klosteret i Coimbra, et av de mest betydningsfulle middelalderklostrene i Portugal. På grunn av sin kunstneriske og historiske betydning, fikk klostere verdensarvstatus i 1989.[2]
