Gdy ten ostatni zdobył Sydon, Abdi-Milkutti zdołał uciec z miasta łodzią, ale później - jak podają asyryjskie roczniki - schwytano go „jak rybę” i stracono. Nie jest wykluczone, iż to właśnie jego przedstawiono jako jeńca króla asyryjskiego na steli Asarhaddona.
