W dniu 1 stycznia 2017 roku z połączenia dwóch ówczesnych gmin – Cormot-le-Grand oraz Vauchignon – utworzono nową gminę Cormot-Vauchignon. Siedzibą gminy została miejscowość Cormot-le-Grand[2].
