W dniu 1 stycznia 2016 roku z połączenia trzech ówczesnych gmin – Montsaugeon, Prauthoy oraz Vaux-sous-Aubigny – powstała nowa gmina Le Montsaugeonnais. Siedzibą gminy została miejscowość Prauthoy[2].
