Erdenet (Mongolie: Эрдэнэт literally "gem), is the seicont-lairgest ceety in Mongolie an the caipital o the aimag (province) o Orkhon.
Locatit in the northren pairt o the kintra, it lies in a valley atween the Selenge an Orkhon rivers aboot 150 miles (240 km) (as the crow flies) northwast o Ulan Bator, the caipital. The road lenth atween Ulan Bator an Erdenet is aboot 230 miles (371 km).
