In the middle o the 1980s, mair nor 50% o the indwallers wur Roushies wirkin as ingineers or miners. Efter the faw o communism in 1990, housomeivver, maist o them left Erdenet. The day aboot 10% are Roushies. A comparatively heich percentage o indwallers jynt the Kirk o Jesus Christ o Latter Day Saunts who biggit a kirk in the wastren pairt o the ceety^[7] .
