Max Born (German: [bɔɐ̯n]; 11 December 1882 – 5 Januar 1970) wis a German-Jewish-Scots pheesicist an mathematician who wis instrumental in the development o quantum mechanics an wis awairdit the Nobel Prize for Pheesics in 1954. He moved to Ingland in 1933 as a refugee frae Nazi Germany, an tae Scotland in 1936. Frae 1936 tae his retirement in 1953 he wis a professor at the Varsity o Edinburgh.[2] His granddochter is the Australien singer Olivia Newton-John.
