Syne 2004, Qatar haes been dividit intae aicht municipalities.[1] A new municipality, Al Daayen, wis creatit unner Resolution No. 13,[2] formed frae pairts ofUmm Salal an Al Khawr; at the same time, Al Ghuwariyah wis merged wi Al Khawr; Al Jumaliyah wis merged wi Ar Rayyan; an Jarayan al Batnah wis split atween Ar Rayyan an Al Wakrah.
For statistical purposes, the municipalities are further subdividit intae zones (87 in number as o 2004), which are in turn subdividit intae blocks Archived 2006-12-12 at the Wayback Machine.
