Dom Pedro I (Inglis: Peter I; 12 October 1798 - 24 September 1834), nicknamed "the Liberator", wis the foonder an first ruler o the Empire o Brazil. As King Dom Pedro IV, he ringed briefly ower Portugal, whaur he became kent as "the Liberator" as weel as "the Sodger King".[A]

- Pedr I becam kent as "the Liberator" in Brazil for his role in the kintra's unthirldom.(Viana 1994, p. 252) He became kent as "the Liberator" in Portugal as well as "the Sodger King". Baith epithets resultit frae his pairt in the war against his brither, Dom Miguel I.(Saraiva 2001, p. 378)
