History

The exact date o Reutov's foondation is unkent; housomeivver, maist historians believe that it wis foondit atween 1492 an 1495. In the 17t-18t centuries, the veelage o Reutovo belangit tae the dynasties o Prince Turenin an Prince Vasily Dolgorukov. At the beginnin o the 18t century, Reutovo became a veelage. Census Beuk o 1709 haes a record o the veelage o Reutovo, awned bi the Prince Vasily Dolgorukov.

In 1787, the veelage wis acquired bi Prince N. I. Maslov. Unner his rule Reutovo became a luxurious kintra estate. At the beginnin o the 19t century, Prince Maslov went bankrupt an the veelage became a property o Lt. Col. A. M. Pokhvistnev who in 1824 biggit a cotton mill. Yarn frae the factory wis amang the best in Roushie an wan a gowd medal at the Aw-Roushie Naitional Shaw in 1831. Shortly efter that Pokhvistnev sauld the laund an the mill.

In 1843, the laund an the cotton mill wis purchased bi S. A. Mazurin, a Moscow merchant. He biggit a brick factory, dormitories, an restructured the cotton mill gradually formin a factory toun o Reutovo.

Syne 1955, Reutov is the host for NPO Mashinostroyeniya, umwhile kent as USSR Experimental Design Bureau #52, whaur development o various robotic an manned space satellites, ICBMs, cruise missiles taks place; the langtime director wis Vladimir Chelomei.^[11]
