Segovia is a ceety in Spain, the caipital o Province o Segovia in the autonomous commonty o Castile an León. It is situatit north o Madrid, 30 minutes bi heich speed train. The municipality coonts some 55,500 inhabitants.

Etymology
The name o Segovia is o Celtiberian oreegin. The first inhabitants namit the ceety Segobriga." This name comes frae twa terms o celtiberian oreegin, leid o the celtic Indo-European branch. It comes frae the term Sego, which means «victory» (prefix an aw present in ither ceeties such as Segeda an Segontia) an the suffix -briga, which wad mean «ceety» or «strength». So it micht be translatit as "Ceety o the victory" or "Victorious ceety".
Unner the Romans and Arabs, the ceety wis cried Segovia (Σεγουβία, Ptolomeo ii. 6. § 56) an Šiqūbiyyah (Arabic شقوبية) respectively.
