Tikrit

Tikrit (Arabic: تكريت‎, Tikrīt transliteratit as Takrit or Tekrit an aw) is a toun in Iraq, locatit 140 km northwast o Baghdad on the Tigris river (at 34.61°N, 43.68°E). The toun, wi an estimatit population in 2002 o aboot 260,000 is the admeenistrative centre o the Saladin Province.^[1]
