Vallcebre is a municipality in the comarca o Berguedà, Catalonie.[1] It comprises twa touns: Vallcebre proper, an the veelage o Sant Julià de Fréixens.

The toun wis first documentit in the year 893, whan it wis mentioned as Balcebre in a document descrievin the consecration o the Cathedral o la Seu d'Urgell. Bi 983, a castle existit in the toun, that there is nae trace the day.[citation needit]
The municipality in past times wis controllt in pairt bi the Abbot o Bagà an the barons o Peguera. Bi the 15t hunderyear, it haed become pairt o the possessions o the Foix faimily.
