Vazashen

Vazashen (Armenie: Վազաշեն) is a toun in the Tavush Province o Armenie. It is the steid o auncient Xałxał (Armenie: Խաղխաղ), whare Vardan Mamikonian wan his first militar victory.^[1] Till recently, it wis kent as Lala Geł (Armenie: Լալա գեղ), then Lali Gyuł (Armenie: Լալի գյուղ)^[2]. The name o Vazashen wis chosen tae reflect the local vineyard production^[3] (վազ/vaz 'grapevine' an շեն/shen 'village').
