Paul Ricœur

Paul Ricœur (Valence, 27. 2. 1913. – Châtenay-Malabry, 20. 5. 2005), francuski filozof, pisac i intelektualac. Najpoznatiji je po kombiniranju fenomenologije i hermeneutike, te kao takav pripada tradiciji hermeneutičkih fenomenologa poput M. Heideggera i H.-G. Gadamera. Ricœur je rođen u protestantskoj porodici i studirao je na Univerzitetu u Rennesu odnosno na Univerzitetu u Parizu. Njegovo filozofsko djelo obuhvaća skoro sve domene – politiku, psihoanalizu, poeziju, teoriju književnosti i duboku, najčešće kritičku studiju Svetog pisma. Suprotstavljao se svakom obliku totalitarizma i svim ratovima, od onog u Alžiru (1954–1962) do ratova na tlu bivše Jugoslavije 1990-ih. Autor je velikog broja djela uključujući "Vrijeme i priču" (Temps et recit, 1983), "Biti kao što je neko drugi" (Soi-meme comme un autre, 1990) i "Pamćenje, historija, zaborav" (La memoire, l'histoire, l'oubli, 2000), djela koja su vrlo značajno utjecala na cijelu jednu generaciju intelektualaca u Francuskoj i ostatku svijeta. Godine 2000. dobio je nagradu Kyoto za umjetnost i filozofiju, zbog "revolucionarnih metoda u okviru hermeneutičke fenomenologije, te proširenja studija tekstualne interpretacije u domeni mitologije, biblijske egzegeze, psihoanalize, teorija metafore i narativne teorije".
