Samuel Johnson (razvrstavanje).Samuel Johnson [ˈsæmjuːəl ˈdʒɒnsən] (poznat i kao Dr Johnson) (Lichfield, 18. septembra 1709. – London, 13. decembra 1784), jedan od najvećih ličnosti engleske književnosti[1]: pjesnik, esejist, biograf, leksikograf i književni kritičar. Također je bio poznat po dosjetljivosti i dipadljivom proznom stilu, kao i po aformizmima.[2] Dr Johnson je najcitiraniji britanski pisac iza Shakespearea[3] i smatra se jednom od najznamenitijih ličnosti Britanije 18. vijeka.[4].
