Celestine, also known as celestite, is a blue mineral which is the main source of the element strontium. It is found as strontium sulfate (SrSO4), which is commonly used in fireworks and in some metal alloys. Often occuring in crystallized formation, celestine derives its name from the Latin word for celestial, caelestis.[1]
