Vincent "Vinnie" Viola (born 1956 in New York City) is an American billionaire businessman and philanthropist. Viola was the nominee for United States Secretary of the Army after being nominated by Donald Trump in December 2016.[1] He withdrew his name from consideration on February 3, 2017.
He is the former chairman of the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX), and the founder and chairman of Virtu Financial.[2] Viola is the owner of the Florida Panthers, a National Hockey League (NHL) ice hockey team.[3]
