On December 25, 2020, a recreational vehicle (RV) exploded in downtown Nashville, Tennessee, United States, injuring three people and damaging many buildings.
Human remains were found at the site of the explosion.[3][4] The explosion took place at 166 Second Avenue North between Church Street and Commerce Street at 6:30 am.[5]
Many people heard gunshots, and loudspeakers on the vehicle telling people to evacuate before the explosion happened.[3][6][7]
The explosion was felt many miles away from the crime site. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is leading the investigation.[8]
Authorities said the next day that the attack was likely a suicide bombing.[5] The FBI named a 63-year-old man as a person of interest in the investigation.[9][10] The FBI searched his home in Nashville on December 26.[4] However it was later confirmed that the perpetrator of the bombing, Anthony Quinn Warner, was killed in the explosion.[1]
